We live in colder climate and don't get to go outside all the time and things like Wii Active keeps me going in the really cold months. I don't think having a kids treadmill is a bad idea. Kids in general are getting lazier and lazier. This is an improvement and not a hinderance. Also I have diabetes and my kids who are 2 and 7 we encourage to keep active any way, any how!! Being positive in the world gets people further in life and negativity I have no time for!!

Alicia, John and Elaine....and any other people that feel like they do. You are idiots thinking that this product is not beneficial for kids when it is raining outside, too cold to go out or they are in for the night and have extra energy.
Any product out there can be abused or misused by anyone.....I am sure there may be some that would abuse this one too.....but that is not for us to decide. You would see a product like this taken off the market or not produced at all because of your stupid belief that it is better for a kid to sit around? I would have hated being your kid.

Actually for children with a physical disability of the legs the treadmill would be beneficial or even placed outdoors for the children to play and have fun.
I can only feel sad for the child role modelling its mother chained to a treadmill absorbing reality TV this before it has even entered into the survival of the fittest game of life often referred to as “The treadmill” or was it the grindstone!
This is complete nonsense "brave new world" laboratory rats would complain to the union about this.

The people who have a problem with this seem to think only parents who don't play with their kids or take their kids to playgrounds would want this. That's stupid. You can't neglect you own health just because you have a child. If your child would otherwise be laying on the floor watching TV while you get in a half hour of exercise, but they would like to get on the treadmill too, then this is a great way for them to be able to exercise WITH you rather than laying around doing nothing. This is also a great way to set up a pattern for a healthy lifestyle later on. Kids don't play on the playground until they're 40, and if they've already found a form of exercise they like before they lose interest in the playground then they're less likely to become overweight. And as for John up there talking about lazy moms, YOU'RE NOT A WOMAN! How dare he criticize us. Apparently John thinks women should spend every moment focusing on their children and ignoring their own health while men do... what exactly? What a jerk.

I think that some of you people are idiots. If it is not apart of your ideals or values it is wrong. Please get a life and don't tell people how to raise their children. I plan on purchasing one for my daughter because I know when I get my treadmill she is going to want to do what mommy does or will try to get on mommy's machine. This way she has something of her own and I am teaching her to exercise early. I am not being lazy by not going to the park with my daughter and I can interact with her while we are both on our machines.

sometimes the child is autistic and needs the extra moving around AFTER the playground and AFTER the playing outside and for the rainy days that you cannot get outside - I think any time extra a child wants to exercise is wonderful.....

Wow, some heated comments about something that could actually be good for kids health. I disagree with John and actually have a 5 year old who likes to workout with my wife and I. We are by no means gym nuts and do plenty of other activities with our son. I think this is great and spending time with your child on healthy activities is teaching them habits for when they get older. Who thinks this is supposed to replace the playground, maybe this is a good supplement for rainy and cold days.

You people need to get outside and find a hobby!

Great, let's walk on a treadmill next to mommy and watch TV or listen to music, instead of mommy taking me outside to play and actually interact with me. This is a great toy for mommy's who are into themselves and don't want to be bothered by their child while they are exercising.
