Ever wanted to know who bought the world’s most expensive truffle & for how much?  Well, reader, wonder no more.

The owners of the upscale restaurant Zafferano, located in Knightsbridge, UK purchased the most expensive truffle at a charity auction in Tuscany back in 2005.  Once the gavel hit the last time, Zafferano’s bid was accepted for $28,000!

Unfortunately, when the world’s most expensive truffle reached its destination, it had gone bad and was taken back to Tuscany for a proper burial.
