I wish people would stop posting messages about Ashera's. That is not a breed, it was never a breed, it will never be a breed and hence it is not the most expensive breed of cat. There is no such thing as an Ashera. You would think that people typing opinions on the internet might actually use the internet to check the validity of their comments.

Jojo, anyone that says a Bengal requires a hustle and bustle environment is making a completely flawed statement. Bengals personality vary greatly from animal to animal. I just placed a Bengal that I advertised as needing a home with little hustle and bustle. It was not skittish or anything but it showed an extremely controlling dominant personality. Bengals do fine in single person home as long as that person is willing to make the time to ensure the cat has lots of quality time.

As for letting it outside, well no responsible cat owner ( or neighbor) allows their cat outside. My contract specifically forbids it and allows me to repossess the cat at the owners full expense if I find it is occurring. Small cats are not native to N.A. and are very much a destructive invasive species when free roaming. If any other invasive species does 1/10th the environmental damage a cat does it is destroyed on sight. It is estimated that in N.A. they destroy over 1 billion birds a year alone .

At the absolute very least it should be obvious that a Bengal can not be allowed to free roam .... how long do you think it would last before someone stole it .... 20 minutes?... an hour?

Finally ....average $2000 to $4000 per cat?! I think not. 20 years ago when the breed was quite rare perhaps.

iv been interested in bengals for a long time and hoped ato get one (iv rescued and homed stray moggies all my life and have been cat free since my last cat aged 16 died in jan) iv done tons of research on bangals and it sounded just the type of cat for me, then i came across some info that talked about the type of environment a bangal needs.. hussle and bussle, other pets, children noice in a busy household! not the environment i could offer.. i live alone, work part time and my grandson stops a few times a week. but it made me think it may not be fare on the cat. also advised they can be very bossy, noisy and destructive if they dont have a lot of attention and shouldnt be let out as they have no road sense. could any of you bengal owners comment on this please. xx

We have 3 Bengal cats and brought them from Bengal breeders. They are beautiful and all three have different personalities and it makes you happy they are funny and loving cats. Grey rosette girl she is a fussy eater and shy, snow White girl she is cheeky and loves to play all the time and she hides her toys under furniture she is a silly one lol lastly her brother a brown marble he is very clever, he taps me gently when he wants food, if I ignore his paw tapping me (I am deaf) he probably knows it is strange anyway once tap me he makes me follow him he wants food which he sits by his bowl, he even turn on the switch light jumping up cos he seen us do it he copies... They love water too... They play in rear garden but won't let them out front we out a leash on them for their safety and health. Very clean even they sweep up their cat litter that spilt over on floor by using paws, if I sweep up they use paw to sweep too. They play well together. Love them ...if you want a Bengal go on website look up Bengal breeders they varies in cost £350-£450 but worth it.

I love cats more than anything in the world...but if you are that vain and sad to pay over $100 for a cat when there are cats being put to sleep every day in shelters than I just feel bad for you. Seriously $40k?? That's just sick. Granted the Bengals are beautiful and who wouldn't want a cat that can live to be a quarter of a century old...but spending that much on an animal when there are millions of kittens and cats being put to sleep each day in shelters because there aren't people willing to adopt them and isn't enough funding to keep them...just breaks my heart. How shallow are people that they have to have the best of the best when it comes to animals?! What people don't realize is that any animal can become the most amazing, beautiful, enviable, talented and wonderful animal if they are just given the time of day. I don't work for the aspca or spca or any animal organization...but I wish I did so I could talk some sense into people who think that having a "pure" bread cat is the only way to go. My cat is a Maine Coon. He showed up on my back porch 5 years ago. He's one of the most beautiful animals I have ever seen and yet he just showed up out of nowhere one day. If I went to a breeder; my cat would have easily cost me over $5,000. Luckily, by fate, my cat found me and I have loved and cherished him ever since. What people don't realize is that any cat can become a pure bread--it's all about the love and care you provide for them. Even a mangy stray can end up being "Best In Show". Just love them for what they are. Don't spend an arm and a leg on your next cat...because it will only be a winner if you are willing to make it a winner not because of their price tag--but because of how they touched your life.

Actually the World's most expensive cat is known as the Ashera, it's the largest, rarest, most exotic, and expensive domestic cat known about. And it costs about $24,000. That's the price not just what one person paid.... it's crazy. But they're beautiful I would love to have a bengal.
