Fastest Long-Range Superyacht For Sale

April 12, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as The Most Expensive, Wheels at 1:17 pm | Comments off

German billionaire Guido Krass is offering his 241-foot Silver Zwei superyacht for sale and it’s at a price that might astound even the more stone-hearted.

Originally designed by Monaco’s Espen Oeino to suit the German eco-industrialist, the world’s fastest long-range superyacht currently has a price tag of $85 million, but don’t you worry, it’s as eco-friendly as is possible with a yacht of this size.

That means high fuel efficiency, which is quite handy when crossing the Atlantic at a cool 22 knots. The yacht’s light, airy interior has accommodations for 20 guests in nine cabins including a large owner’s suite with private lounge and veranda deck. Earth tones and clean white spaces with orange accents abound.

Marcia Sherrill’s $46K Grande Anne Tole

April 8, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Holiday Gift Ideas, The Most Expensive at 7:59 am | Comments off

While this handbag from Marcia Sherrill may appear modest, we assure you that the Grande Anne Tole certainly is not that.

The natural and black python skin purse comes with an astounding price tag of $46,000 and features all 18k gold hardware, which, yes, means that that designer button on the front is your new gold nugget.

Rolled double top handles design an excellent structure so you won’t loose your new bag, and metallic gold plonge leather interior lining.  While this isn’t necessarily our bag, maybe this is your new baby.  Enjoy!

BMW M3 Pickup Truck Gag

April 7, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Fast & Furious Cars, Wheels at 8:18 am | Comments off

The BMW M3 has been available in everything from a coupe, to a convertible to the every day sedan, but never a pickup truck.  Well, that is until the company built one exclusively as a gag.

We don’t know if this was an April Fool’s Day experiment, but the BMW M3 Pickup Truck features the same 4.0-liter, 420-horsepower V8 as the production M3 along with the ability to haul a mere 110 pounds of extras in the bed.

Along with the bed, the M3 truck also features a removable roof for open-air driving, the only bad thing is that you can’t buy one.  Apparently they only built one and it is currently being used by the M division workshop to assist moving parts around the shop.

It’s just too bad, this is a pretty nice piece of BMW machinery!

Alexander McQueen Skull and Butterfly Ring

April 6, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Bling Bling, For Her at 10:00 pm | Comments off

Sometimes classy and trashy are opposite poles, and sometimes they are flip sides of the same coin. On this amazingly badass ring by Alexander McQueen, the latter is definitely the case. There’s not actually anything actually trashy about this design, but it does reference biker girl style in a pretty clear way.

The design is classic McQueen, with his signature skull motif combined with Swarovski-accented flowers and butterflies. It’s the combination of these seemingly contradictory elements that make the design so effective. It looks as though the heavy, scary looking skull has been graced with a lovely halo. I guess some people might find the look a little creepy, but it fits in well with this season’s dark, edgy aesthetic without getting too goth.

Spada Codatronca’s Extraordinary Monza Roadster

April 6, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Fast & Furious Cars at 7:47 pm | Comments off

Okay, I’ll be honest. I don’t get excited about every new sports car that hits the streets. I’m just not that kind of girl. It takes a lot to impress me. And I am totally impressed right now. This is one of the most extraordinary machines I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, I will probably never get the chance to see it. And unless you’re going to be at the Top Marques show in Monaco, where it’s expected to be unveiled, you won’t see it, either.

The new Monza roadster, designed by Zagato designers Ercole and Paolo Spada, is strictly a concept car, so you’re never going to see it speeding down the streets of Beverly Hills. Rest assured, though, that it could handle them. It has a Corvette z06 engine with 700 horsepower, which means that it can go from 0 to 60 in three seconds or less. It also has a top speed of 210 mph, so if you want to try to liberate it from the Monaco show, you might have a good shot at a clean getaway.

Hrmmm, well somehow we doubt that when you see this amazing Nestrest Hanging Chair from Dedon that you’ll run away screaming.  See?  We told you.

Designed by Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety, the Nestrest offers spacious aesthetic seating on a framework of the highest quality rattan.  You can hang your new BFF over a stream, in the backyard, or in the wiles of New Guinea while you’re pretending to be an exotic bird-of-paradise.

The only drawback is the steep price tag which you can appreciate at $14,000 each.

Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi Largest Showroom

March 30, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Fast & Furious Cars, The Most Expensive, Wheels at 8:30 am | (1) Comment »

There are a total, right now anyway, of 82 Rolls-Royce dealerships around the world and the largest isn’t even in England.

Abu Dhabi is the latest in eight dealerships that have opened in the Middle East and is by far the largest.  The new Abu Dhabi showroom features 10,000 square feet of luxury including a very uncluttered five-car display even though Rolls-Royce is currently only manufacturing four models, a coffee bar customer configuration lounge and adjacent service center.

The Middle East certainly is growing up and up and up.

Ritz Carlton Hong Kong Opens Tuesday

March 29, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Estate of the Day at 9:04 am | Comments off

Luxury has a new benchmark, in Hong Kong that is.  The 116-floor Ritz Carlton Hong Kong will be opening their doors Tuesday and offering luxury beyond compare.

Occupying floors 102-118 of the nearly 1,600-foot-tall International Commercial Centre, the Ritz Carlton will be one of the few to call home in Hong Kong’s tallest building.

The Ritz will join financial giants and neighbors Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, as well as residential space, 100th floor observation deck, a shopping mall and a transportation center.

The 118th floor features an infinity pool with panoramic views of the harbor as well as a rooftop restaurant and lounge.

Located in Kowloon, the hotel sits along Victoria Harbor, offering spectacular views of the harbor, Hong Kong Island and the New Territories.

Spectacular views of the city are complemented by a well-designed interior. Several big-name designers were hired for the project, including Singapore’s LTW Designworks, which also did work for the Mandarin Oriental Sanya on Hainan Island.

The 312-guestroom hotel will be the flagship property for the Ritz Carlton in Asia. A one-night grand opening package is currently on offer for just under 5,000 Hong Kong dollars.
