Northern Lights Moving Color Tile

Inspired by the Northern Lights, Moving Color Tiles has come up with 4 x 4 glass tiles that appear black at room temperature, but move through the color spectrum when the temperature changes.

The Northern Lights Tile line relies on temperature to create the sensation that the colors are moving. When warm water or radiant heat is applied to the neat-o tiles, you see quite a range of color. It’s actually quite fascinating, although it reminds me of those iiridescent cars that were popular for a while. I like it, Moving Color tiles gets our stamp of approval.

I think that is just too cool to explain to have a shower or anthing with tiles lyke that.

Many people would love this and would probaly sell millions or someting succesful lyke that.

I am so interested in the the northern lights now. Hope to visist Alaska or Canada to see them one day. Having tiles installed in a shower or a timber frame home with high ceilings would be a thrill to see especiall if it was a raing forest or a perrienal garden. Keep the creations going!!!

It’s the same concept as mood rings… i’d liek to see this in many other house hold items… vase’s, dinner ware, it’s a cool idea

ya i went to the site and the tiles are $33 a piece. for a 4×4 tile. i did a basic calculation for THAT shower shown. 10 across, 15 down, 3 walls. thats no less than 450 tiles. so i rounded up to 500 tiles…. THATS OVER $16,000!!! DO YOU HAVE 16 G’s TO RE-TILE YOUR SHOWER?!?!?!?! i honestly think it would be cooler to do a floor then you get the heat/color change from your feetsies! haha imagine laying down on it naked and getting a butt or boob imprint!

Eerm. Sylmee. It’s 10 across and 16 down. So that’s 8 4×4 tiles high, and 5 4×4 tiles wide = 40 tiles per wall. Multiply by 3 is 120 tiles. Which is £3960

Actually Sam, Sylmee is right. If you have a wall 10×16. you times 10 by 16. That alone is 160 tiles. Then you times by 3. I don’t know where you got the 8 and 5 from. You don’t cut the numbers in half because the tile is a 4×4. the 4×4 is just saying how big the tile is in itself. So Sylmee’s calculation is actually correct.
