The next in line for production at the Aston Martin plant might surprise you. The subcompact luxurious Cygnet may be small, but this furious car can pack a punch.
The Cygnet is a rebadged Toyota iQ equipped with the same 97hp 1.3-liter engine but outfitted with a high-end, sartorial interior that’s been enveloped with hand-stitched leather. News sources are pegging the Cygnet with a price tag somewhere between $45,000 to $75,000, according to InsideLine.
It’s a drastic break from Aston Martin’s current line up of performance cars, but adding a fuel-sipper will help the British carmaker comply with tightening European emissions standards and could help it achieve the 35 mpg Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards that will go into effect in the U.S. in 2016–should they begin selling the car in this market. Aston Martin’s last reported CAFE rating was 19 mpg in 2008, although its low sales volume means that it could get an extension on meeting the target.
Well, although we don’t necessarily love this new Aston, it’s nice to see the company thinking greener as well as faster.

If you live in the Los Angeles area, you may already be aware of the growing cult of Derringer bike owners. If not, let me introduce you to to something wonderful.
Derringer Cycles makes hybrid bicycles inspired by bikes from the 1920′s. These gorgeous machines feature retro-modern styling and an engine that can go up to 30 mph. Not only that, but these bikes can go up to 300 miles on their small 1.8 tank. Talk about fuel efficient.
While Derringers are definitely green by nature, it’s probably their amazing craftsmanship and good lucks that are winning them so many fans. Every Derringer bike is custom made for its owner, with prices that average at about $3,500. You can get a Derringer without an engine for a little less. They are available exclusively through Equinox gyms for about $2,300.
This is the kind of bike that fashionistas and environmentalists alike can agree on. Part motorcycle inspired, part vintage racer inspired, part pure invention, derringer bikes are a beautiful and economical way to ride. Once you get past the initial investment, of course.

Not every luxury car has to be hot off the lot. Some of the most beautiful machines out there have been around for half a decade or more. Take this gorgeous Mercedes Benz, for example. It’s totally original from 1962, with less than 83,000 miles on it!
This 300 SL Roadster was one of only 1,818 made, and is also one of the 478 made with disc brakes. This is one of those cars that has been seriously loved it’s whole life. It has the service book with records from every service since the first 500 miles!
This is the kind of car that you imagine rich British hipsters cruising around London in in the swinging sixties. The ivory color is pitch perfect, as is every curve and hollow on this beautifully-designed, impeccably maintained machine. At $790,000, it’s a pretty hefty investment, but it’s also a rare collectible, and has a lot more personality than your run-of-the-mill luxury coupe.

The lovely actress Keira Knightley was spotted working on a new ad for Chanel in Paris recently and we can’t helped how sexy the Brit looked straddling a classic 1970s Ducati Super Sport that was actually painted to match her Karl Lagerfeld-designed beige leather bodysuit.
Wow, what a life this must be for Keira! The custom helmet Knightley is wearing was also a custom design by the French luxury brand Les Ateliers Ruby. What a wonderful luxury collection!

Here in the States we’ve seen the random Mustang police car or some flashy Camaro wheeling through town with their blaring lights, but the polizia have us beat hands-down.
Some police stations in Italy have upgraded their cars to actual Lamborghini. Jaw-drop, eh? And a Gallardo Lamborghini at that.
Decked out with the usual police decals but featuring a gun rack, cooler, video equiptment and radio, this polizia car is the next step in police enforcement. Now, how do I go about snatching one….?

The new BMW concept car is a shape-shifter? Hrmmm, this bears looking into. The new BMW GINA Light Visionary Model car is created using a flexible fabric that is rather stretched over a manipuable metal frame. So you can basically change the actual shape of your car based on what features you activate. More of like a classy Thing.
This is currently no word on if this beautiful machine will actually go into production, but my vote is a definite yes!
