Well, it just wouldn’t be a proper Paris Hilton birthday celebration if she didn’t get her very own new luxury car, would it?
Hilton, who celebrates her 30th birthday Thursday, started celebrating the big day earlier this week when BF CY Waits treated her to a bright yellow $350,000 Lexus.
Paris looked truly shocked when she received the luxurious Lexus and reportedly hugged and kissed Waits all over the driveway when the sports car was delivered.
But the fun or funds don’t stop there, Hilton is planning parties all over the place to mark her thirtieth, saying, “It”s a big birthday so I”m going to be going to a lot of places to have parties: Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, by the year 2020 China will have taken over the world’s luxury markets.
A new report from an investment research group reports that the fatter paychecks in China as well as a stronger and newer desire for luxuries will put China in front of the US for all luxury markets.
With fatter paychecks and stronger desires to display new wealth, Chinese consumers are building their appetites for designer handbags, watches and clothing. They’re pushing up profits at high-end retailers, such as Louis Vuitton and Hermès, and are expected to carve out in the next decade a US$101 billion luxury market by the end of this decade, the report said.
To give you some perspective on this news, that’s about $32 billion more than what American consumers spent on luxury goods last year. Looks like the luxury baton is being passed on….

Even though Kelsey Grammer’s divorce to longtime partner Camille isn’t yet finalized, the actor has already booked the NYC Plaza Hotel in preparation for his upcoming luxury nuptials to new fiancee Kayte Walsh.
Grammer and Walsh plan to enjoy a lavish New York City wedding February 11 of this year and the Manhattan venue is just what he was looking for to spoil his new bride.
A source reveals details about the luxurious wedding date, saying, “Kelsey and Kayte have booked the Plaza ballroom for the reception. Despite the lavish surroundings, they want an intimate wedding with less than 150 guests. Kayte has laid out all the details, all the timings. The room will be decorated all in white, including a white cake. There will be a very tight guest list, and they won’t allow cameras in. They’re flying a lot of Kayte’s family members in from England and putting them all up at The Plaza.”
Sounds like a tightly run luxury ship!

Luxurious hotel chain Morgans Hotel Group has just unveiled a new program that will be available in five of their properties dubbed “Minibar for the Mind.”
For those luxury travelers who would rather think than drink, this new “Minibar for the Mind” offers a well-designed box filled with box of 250 conversation starters, columns written by faculty at The School of Life, “Reading Prescriptions” designed for relaxation as well as some for seduction and a notebook and pencil set.
The set costs $56 (suggesting, perhaps, that minibars are extortionate whatever you put in them) but guests who don’t want to shell out for the product will also be treated to a “Daily Aphorism” with their turn down, with insights from some of the world’s great literary minds.
$56 is about five mini liquor bottles from the real minibar, so we’re thinking this would make an interesting companion for our next Morgans stay.

The world’s most expensive apartments, One Hyde Park, just celebrated their grand opening.
Opening their doors for the first time, the UK’s One Hyde Park was officially unveiled Thursday by property duo, the Candy brothers.
Each luxury apartment includes a valet, wine cellar, private spa, home cooking by award-winning chefs and of course, a panic room. Only 86 residential flats make up the luxurious One Hyde Park, which average about $9500 per square foot.
The launch is being carefully watched as a litmus test for the financial health of the world’s super-rich and their appetite for London in the wake of the financial crisis.
Well, if it’s any indication at all, we wouldn’t mind kicking up our heels at the Park.
