Developed in France in the 18th century, the Rococo style preferred style over functionality, which is a philosophy I quite admire.
Let me now introduce you to the Tufft pier table, the most expensive Rococo table in the world. Originally built for a general store owner, Thomas Tufft hand-carved this ornate desk in the last bits of the 18th century.
Back in January of 1990, the Tufft pier table sold at auction for an astounding $4.6 million, making this piece of art not only the most expensive Rococo table in the world, but the most expensive table period.
She’s a beauty, no?

The world’s most expensive guitar picks are not crafted of gold or platinum, but of Gibeon meteorite. Yep, said to be around 4 billion years old, the Gibeon meteorites were found in Namibia back in 1836.
While the sale & export of these precious meteorites was banned, pieces are still found on the market today, such as these beautiful guitar picks that have been made of the same Gibeon meteorite. Notice the fascinating Widmanstatten lines that indicate their freezing journey through space.
Cost of these two babies? $4,674.

How do you draw people to your restaurant? Why, you up the price right on up to the most expensive option available. The owner of Philly’s Barclay Prime Restaurant, Stephen Starr, has done just that.
To attract folks to his restaurant he has come up with the most expensive Philly cheesesteak in the world. For $100 up too can enjoy Kobe beef, pricey Taleggio cheese, sautéed foie gras, caramelized onions, heirloom shaved tomatoes & shaved truffles. Actually, it doesn’t sound all that bad, though I dunno about the $100 price tag. You gonna get one, or two?

In the realm of the most expensive items, you cannot forget America’s favorite pastime, baseball.
Rawlings has the honor of making the most expensive baseball glove out there, at a cost of $450. Made from two layers of Italian leather, of course, this glove is comprised of several critical break points that allow the user to perform using uninhibited movements.
The glove will also allow the wearer’s hand to instantly & naturally close around the ball. But is that worth $450? Yep, I’d have to agree it is.

This morning I did some digging in order to find the most expensive record album in the world. Apparently, you just can’t go anywhere without Paul McCartney showing up.
According to The Longest List, the Beatles’ That’ll Be The Day has been estimated in worth of $180,000. Recorded in 1958 by the Quarry Men, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Colin Hanton & John Duff Lowe, That’ll Be The Day is the most expensive album in the world & you’re a luck duck if there’s one in your collection.

So, how much are you paying for that monthly hairdo? $50? $100? $200 even? Well, what about upping that to, say, $16,000?
Hairstylist Stuart Phillips is currently the official stylist for the annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. His clients include Jean-Claude Van Damme & Ivana Trump, but Phillips recently gained more fame for being entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most expensive haircut ever.
Here’s the situation: millionaire Beverley Lateo couldn’t go without her dear ole Stuart cutting her hair, even though she was in Italy. So what did she do? Of course, the lady paid a pretty pence for a first-class ticket from London to Italia. Upon arrival, she was picked up by
limousine & taken directly to Phillips’ salon where she spent the whole long day.
Entire cost of the haircutting affair, $16,000. So, umm, would you like a haircut or a, ummm, car?
