Everywhere you look these days, you find green tea- in a Japanese spa swimming pool, green tea ice cream & now even green tea vodka. How much longer are we going to be green tea crazed? I guess another few thousand years, eh?
The company Charbay has come up with a new Green Leaf Tea Vodka. This new “sipping vodka” took several years to develop & is finally on the market to chug, I mean, sip. But as for the drinkabillity, reports are coming in that you had better chug this green tea vodka instead of sip due to its bitter taste. What I think- the next time I have some guests that ask for green tea, this is what they’re getting, baby!

Dan Aykroyd is adding his name to the ongoing list of celebrity winemakers. The Hollywood veteran actor has invested in Niagara Cellars to release the Dan Aykroyd Signature Reserve Vidal Icewine 2005; expect the celebrity vintage early next year.
But the Ghostbusters star doesn’t want to stop there, Aykroyd also wishes to develop other white wines as well as a new vodka, as if we didn’t have enough of both, eh?

A $5000 bottle of Scotch whiskey! Man, alive! My Johnny Walker Black feels a little insufficient to be in my liquor cabinet now. This Macallan 50-year-old single malt Scotch Whiskey can be yours today for just a small fraction of what it takes to purchase a new car.
This Scotch whiskey is quite rare, as telling of the price. This whiskey is thought to be the wine of Scotch with its subtle flavors and immense taste satisfaction. During the 50 year aging process, the wooden taste and flavoring have combined to make an exceptional drink. One that just might be worth the price tag. You decide.

Beer is one of the oldest drinks known to man, but it takes a special person to be an actual beer connoisseur. In my life I’ve only known a few, of course there’s always Norm & Cliff from Cheers and that guy at the bar that’s there morning, noon & night- but maybe he’s another kind of connoisseur.
The question you need to ask yourself, are you ready to pay $100 per bottle for Samuel Adams / Boston Beer Company’s Utopias beer? It is said to be the world’s strongest and most expensive beer by far. And it better be, by god, for that kind of cash! This is no Bud Light.
The beer is brewed with a blend of high-quality hops and sold in an ornate copper-plated brew kettle. The sweet flavor of Utopia is richly highlighted with hints of vanilla, oak & caramel. It is a non-carbonated beverage and should be served at room temperature to fully enjoy the bouquet. The production of this beer by the Samuel Adams/ Boston Beer Company was limited to 8,000 bottles- so you need to get yours today. Cheers.

Domaine Romanee Conti 1997 is a palatable, spirited wine for the sincere enthusiast. This French red Burgundy smells of berries, spices and leather. The darkest red color of all, it hints at flavors of soy sauce, flowers and licorice.
The aroma is rich and penetrating without being too profound. On the nose, the wine is sharp, as if it were “double-locked” in its tannic coating (gangue). The “enigmatic” character of this wine finds its full expression in this wine, even if we detect some hints of liquorish typical of La Tâche.
The Romane Conti is a rare wine that has carved a niche for itself along the years. At over fifteen hundred dollars a bottle, it no longer has anything to prove. Consistently, the Romane Conti fetches prices around the thousand dollar mark no matter the vintage. Great potential, reserved, its length and “thickness” on the palate announce interesting developments … if you are patient enough to wait! Cost, $1500 +.

Do a little damage the night before? Need a little wake-me-up? Try a cup of the delicious and smooth Kopi Luwak coffee. With a rich, heavy flavor hinted with chocolate and caramel, a cup of this heaven-on-earth will tempt your body out of that funk.

Kopi Luwak coffee comes from the Indonesian island of Sumatra, and area well-known for its excellent coffee. Only 500 pounds of the beans are produced annually, making this coffee a bit outrageous in price.ÂÂ
Why you ask? Becasue of a little mammal called the luwak, a civet-like animal. These cute little fellas enjoy feasting on red, ripe coffee cherries. They eat the cherry, bean and all and while the bean is digesting it its stomach it goes through chemical treatments and fermentations. The bean then exits from the luwak and collected, cleaned, roasted, ground and shipped to a store near you. Cost per pound, $300.

With a bottle of Champagne you can celebrate the evening in style, but with a bottle of 1992 Krug Clos du Mesnil you celebrate in luxurious class.ÂÂ
This vintage is a complex, firmly structured Champagne, offering slight oxidation, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg and citrus aromas and flavors. Dense, dry and unique, with a combination of vivid acidity and chalky texture on the finish. This begs for food or contemplation. Drink now through 2017. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 75 cases imported. Cost, $600.
