To celebrate their 50th anniversary of 1959 Dom Ruinart, Blanc de Blancs is marking the occasion with a stunning  Melting Collection Ice Bucket.

Designed by Dutch artist Maarten Baas, only 50 of these silver buckets have been commissioned with the end price tag of $8,800.  Now, who wants to open a bottle?

The Scottish distillers have poured their finest 50-year-old single malt Scotch into a new, limited edition bottle and have made it the second most expensive bottle of Scotch around for $16,000. 

Glenfiddich releases bottles of their 50-year-old Scotch whiskey only once in a decade, so you better get your hands on this wineskin fast!

Alexander McQueen’s Chivas Regal

chivas-regal-mcqueenChivas Regal has teamed up with UK designer Alexander McQueen to create a new 18-year-old limited edition Scotch whiskey your granddad would be proud of.

McQueen has taken the old classic Chivas Regal design and dressed her up a bit with perfect finery and blue aesthetics.  The new bottle also features a handcrafted, enamelled gold cap which pays tribute to the Royal Warrant granted by Queen Victoria to Chivas Regan in 1843.

Expect to pay around $800 per precious bottle.

World’s First Hibiscus Tequila, Gran Centenario Rosangel

Perfect for Valentine’s Day, Gran Centenario Rosangel has just been released.

The hibiscus-infused tequila is the first of its kind on the luxury liquor market.  Tinged with a subtle pink, this tequila is made from 100% Higland blue agave that has been harvested after 10 to 12 years.

Tasters of the Gran Centenario Rosangel have remarked on the ripe fruit and floral notes, along with a hint of vanilla.  Sounds like a Valentine’s Day in  heaven to us.  Cost, $30 for 750ml.

Luxury Market Further Declines with Cost of Fine Wine Dropping

As the stock market becomes a bargain hunters paradise, so too is the luxury market seeing more clientele.

Even as Aston Martins are dropping in price, the cost of fine wine has seen better financial times.  The Liv-Ex 100, which details the prices of the top 100 most sought-after wines, saw a 12.4% drop in October.  Not great news for the wineries, but not too bad of news for you if you can afford Opus One.

The wine market has now become a buyer’s market and now it’s time to go collecting.
