While JetBlue might not exactly be a luxury airline, it does seem to have a few more amenities than a lot of the other carriers these days. That whole in-flight TV thing might seem a little gimmicky, but it makes for a nice flight. If you’re into television, it’s a relaxing way to pass a few hours, but if you’re not, everyone else is watching TV, so you’ll have a nice quiet flight. In any case, JetBlue used to fly to only a few locations, but they’re really branching out.

In February, for example, they began direct service from New York’s JFK airport to one of the world’s premier vacation destinations, Turks and Caicos. This promises to be a great vacation plan. If you’ve never been to JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at JFK, it’s easily the most comfortable and well-stocked airport terminal I’ve ever seen. If you’ve never been to Turks and Caicos, the islands are known for their excellent beaches and scuba diving.

Not only is it classic and beautiful, but it also has real staying power, as this gorgeous vintage trunk attests to. This particular steamer is up for sale at M.S. Rau Antiques in New Orleans, Louisiana. What a romantic riverside location to pick up a little piece of travel luxury history in, no?

The trunk is priced at $22,500, and has been included in the coffee table chronicle, Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks. It is covered in LV monogrammed canvas, and is a very early example of the company’s ubiquitous style. This is one of those things that has definitely gotten better with age. All the trim is original, and it features authentic vintage stickers from opulent hotels around the globe. Its giant size and extensive history makes it the kind of inimitable heirloom for your favorite clotheshorse.

The famed Cipriani family, purveyors of the fabulous Cipriani restaurant chain, have launched a new boutique hotel chain beginning with Beverly Hills. Mr. C is intended to be “a modern version of old-world simplicity and stylish European glamour, providing today’s traveler with a comfortable, elegant and effortless experience blending contemporary amenities with discreet, personalized service”. The experience begins with spacious guest rooms, which range from 365-800 square feet, and each has its own private balcony. The 138 rooms include 12 signature suites, and each is decorated with dark hardwood floors, burgundy and gray color palettes, and black & white photographs and film stills.

This luxurious new property doesn’t end with these fabulous guest rooms. The property also includes five 3,000 square foot bungalows. Each boasts a private garden and pool. Not a bad way to spend a vacation in the heart of Beverly Hills, is it? Oh, and, yes, of course the hotel will feature one of the family’s famed restaurants.

Even people who don’t have to are looking for ways to explore the wilderness minus a personal guide and hot tub. Not that there’s anything wrong with having a spa nearby, but if you’re looking to try something new this year, camping just got way less rugged.

This Eddie Bauer Edition Airstream is a 25 foot trailer with all the comforts of home. Okay, well, with most of them, anyways. It sleeps four people and has a queen-sized bed outfitted in Eddie Bauer quilted down fabrics. The kitchen area is done up in soapstone laminates, and the trailer has a sport hatch that allows easy loading of kayaks and bikes and what-nots.

The EB edition is one comfortable, convenient way to do up your camping trip, although at $73,000, it significantly raises the cost of a backpacking trip and it’s not exactly the Plaza. But, on the bonus side, you can always park it really close to a resort.

Transformative, life-changing, these are the kinds of words she uses. If travel to Thailand brings up images of dirty backpackers and crowded cities, rest assured that there’s another way of doing things. The Phuket Villa Getaways are luxury rentals for the discerning traveler.

The Villas are located on Phuket, which is the largest island in Thailand, and is called the “Pearl of the South. The Villas offer everything from eco-adventures to golfing packages, all located within easy access to Patong Beach, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand.

There’s certainly no limit of activities nearby, from waterskiing and scuba diving to elephant riding. Or you could just laze on the bring drinking cocktails and getting massages. Either way, Thailand’s beautiful combination of mountains and beaches offers a vacation like no other.

The 92,000-ton luxury liner embarks on its maiden voyage from Southampton through the Mediterranean on October 25th.

This new Cunard ship is meant to evoke the line’s opulent and exciting early days. It is decorated in 1930′s and 1940′s decor more opulent than any ship out there. 141 chefs are on hand to prepare meals for up to 3,000 people a day. The ship boasts an elaborate ballroom, a luxurious spa, and a new version of the ever popular Britannia club, the private dining area dedicated to guests staying in top balcony rooms.

Cunard says of their new Queen, Queen Elizabeth will offer the very best of Cunard’s values and traditions, blended with every conceivable modern luxury that you, our guests, expect. Through her opulent public rooms and impeccable service, the new ship will reflect the grandeur which has been associated with Cunard ships since the introduction of the Mauretania in 1907; and from the outside, her black hull, gleaming white superstructure and distinctive red funnel will echo the classic characteristics of the company’s distinctive liner heritage.”

In early 2011, the cruiser will take an epic 103-day voyage that fully encricles the globe. It will depart from New York and travel through Brazil, South America, South Africa, Australia, Japan, China, and Europe. Prices for interior staterooms begin at $22,000 and go up to about $80,000 for more luxurious rooms.

He is known for creating politically, and aesthetically, subversive video installations. This extraordinary new bridge, which connects the Dang-Li power plant with the National Assembly Building, has been named after him.

The 1,800 meter bridge is designed for pedestrian use, and has space for libraries, museums and shopping. The design is entirely sustainable and is powered by solar panels. On every floor is a garden, which is built to not only be beautiful, but also to utilize rainwater in an effective way.

In other words, the bridge was not simply designed to be a walkway from one piece of land to another. Instead, it is meant to extend the landscape of the city over the water in an aesthetically-pleasing and environmentally-conscious way. Also, it looks like a spaceship, which is a major plus in my book.

If you live someplace sweltering hot, you might already be fantasizing about skiing across miles of pristine powder in the Rockies. If you are, better book your Aspen rental now before it gets all booked up.

And if you are going to spend your days schlepping up and down the mountain, why not treat yourself to some truly luxurious surroundings. There’s really no point in booking a room when you and your friends can just have the whole lodge to yourself. The Coldstream Trout lodge boasts 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in 7,700 square feet.

Don’t let its rustic look fool you. The bathrooms have giant jacuzzi tubs in them and there’s an entertainment room with a billiards table. The lodge rests right on the riverfront, with views of both the river and the mountains. The rates run from $3,000 a night in the off season to $5,000 during peak season. Definitely not a bad way to spend a few days in the snow.
