Although there is no word as of yet on the price tags of these babies, we can all admit that Henri Nidecker’s new Swarovski crystal studded snowboards will be worth a pretty penny.

Inlaid on the snowboards, the crystals will shower you not only in shiny wonderfulness, but also praise from fellow boarders, and maybe a hint of jealously.

Paul McCartney Sends Heather Mills $16,000 in Birthday Gifts

January 15, 2008 | Posted by Allison as How the Rich Survive at 10:00 am | Comments »

heather-mills.jpgSo it looks as if terribly messy divorces do not supercede birthday gift buying.

Beatle Paul McCartney sent ex-wife Heather Mills a reported $16,000 in birthday gifts.  The gifts included a $4,000 Cartier watch, $10,000 in gift cards & a large bag full of luxury beauty products for the model’s 40th birthday.

Wow, thanks a lot, Paul.  But it doesn’t seem that Heather is returning the favor, as she has hired an ex-MI5 spy to try & catch McCartney acting as an incapable parent to their child.  Well, I guess we all can’t be grateful birthday girls….

No, this is not some kind of magical pod that can take you to the outer reaches of the universe, though it does rather look spacey.

This $5,000 sleeping bag, for lack of a better word, does much more than just provide you with cover for a good night’s sleep.  This bag was designed to treat your body to all kinds of wonderful therapies.

Just jump in & let this invention give you a steam sauna, enjoy the water jets as well as some good old fashioned oxygen misting.  All this for just $5k.  You know what?  I’ll take two, in pink!

So, you’re a pimp, right?  Well, have you ever had a 24 karat gold facial?  Yeah, I thought not.

You’re next order of business, to keep hold of your well-to-do pimp status, is to head on over to your local spa for a 24 Karat Gold Facial brought to you by the Japanese company UMO.

UMO claims that the gold will lift your skin, while firming it all the while.  Sounds good to me, but do I get to keep the gold after?  Cost, $250.

Have you ever thought to yourself, ‘Self, my life is wonderful & beautiful, yet it lack something.  Oh yeah, I know.  My very own personal Star Trek Voyager will make my life complete!’?

Well if you have, readers, then this is your luck day!  In a small town, north of London, on a private block in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England you will find a very unlikely house.  No, not a Harry Potter house this time, folks.  A real live Star Trek-themed studio apartment.  When you ring Englishman Tony Alleyne’s door, you will be greeted by Patrick Stewart saying “Welcome to the 24th century.”

That’s right.  Alleyne went bankrupt by totally remodeling his studio apartment to look exactly like the inside of the Starship Enterprise.  Alleyne plans on placing his Star Trek apartment on eBay later this month with a starting bid of $200,000.  Wow, either Tony is one dedicated Star Trek fan or one crazy businessman.

As of right now, Tony’s flat includes “AEI Security Systems, Vos System voice-activated lighting, running light modules, AgiLight z-LED lighting, and a DeLonghi air conditioning system.”  Which I suppose were all a part of the Voyager?  Tell you what, Tony, include Patrick Stewart in the apartment & we’ll call it a deal!

Beyonce & Jay-Z Buy $40,000 Marcel Wanders Knitted Chair

December 12, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Furniture, How the Rich Survive at 11:00 am | (3) Comments »

marcel-wanders-knitted-chair-12-12-06.jpgWhile in Miami, Florida this past weekend singing sensations & lovebirds Beyonce Knowles & Jay-Z did a bit of shopping.  Where did they do this bit of shopping?

Why at DesignMiami, where some of Dutch designer Marcel Wanders’ lovely creations live!  And that’s where Beyonce reportedly saw, fell in love with & paid more than $40,000 for one of those delightful Knitted Chairs from Wanders.  They are beautiful and made from white cotton with coated epoxy resin.  But isn’t that a little much for a freeking chair?  I guess that’s why I’m not Beyonce & she’s not behind a laptop complaining about how much a doily chair is.
