Noble Pink Nintendo DS Lite

dslitepink.jpgLooks like there’s a new Nintendo DS Lite kid in town, and she’s a noble, a noble pink that is.

Like Forever Geek said, it was only a matter of time before the ladies got their chance to liven up the place with a pink Nintendo DS.  This dual-screened, handheld game console is perfect for any occasion.  Getting a pedicure?  Grab your noble pink DS & start rockin’.  Enduring a stiflingly boring lecture?  Make use of your time & while away the stale hours with the DS.

While the Noble Pink DS is being released in Japan at the end of July, we in the States will have to wait a few more months- but that just builds the anticipation, right?

Dell Launches Special Edition X-Men XPS Gaming PC

May 31, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Gaming at 1:12 pm | Comments »

dell_xps_xmen.jpgDell has recently unveiled a special edition X-Men XPS gaming PC.  Unfortunately, like the XPS 600 Renegade announced earlier this year, the X-Men PC will sell for $10,000. So, I guess you need to decide- next year’s tuition or that pesky mortgage payment- or the collector’s edition X-Men XPS Dell gaming PC?  Well, duh!  The gaming PC.

Inside your redesigned XPS casing you will find an Intel Pentium 965 Extreme Edition processor with Dual Core Tech, scores & scores of RAM & a Quad NVIDIA SLItm graphics card featuring four GeForce 7900 GPUs, if you know what the heck that is.

The aluminum XPS case has state-of-the-art thermal management to keep things cool inside & out.  You have a total of six choices when it comes to your $10,000 machine.  I’ll go with pink or maybe black to emulate the darkness & emptiness of my wallet after such a costly purchase.

Nintendo Wii Will Cost You $250

May 25, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Gaming at 10:07 am | Comments »

Nintendo Wii Revolution.jpgSo much is happening in the video game world I can barely keep my pants on, I’m so excited.  The PS3 is coming soon.  The Wii is set to debut late this year, but we all know how that really works.  And selected XBox games will soon have HD-DVD support.  So much going on, too little cash to do it with.

But wait!  The Nintendo Wii, should it ever be released, will only cost around 25,000 yen or $250 American dollars.  Nintendo is shipping six million systems & 17 millions games around the world.  No word on the exact date of Wii sale, but according to Kotaku, the reality may be much later than Q4.

Sony Says No Worries: Base PS3 Will be Upgradeable

May 18, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Gaming at 10:40 am | (1) Comment »

Sony Playstation 3.jpgLooking at Engadget today, I was filled with a strong sensation of relief.  It looks like my PS3 worries are now calmed with the new Sony release stating that the base PS3 is upgradeable.

“With the recent rumors of the low-end PS3 sporting wired controllers and a non-upgradeable HDD, things weren’t looking good for Sony fanboys without a whole $600 to blow on the next-gen console. Luckily, Sony has squashed those rumors, stating that both configurations will support Bluetooth controllers, and that the hard drive will be upgradeable just like a computer. A Sony representative went on to state that you’ll also be able to purchase a WiFi adapter and a memory card reader for the console, leaving the HDMI port as the only feature you won’t be able to match with ad hoc upgrades. Sure, it’d be nice to have it all in there in the first place, but we’ll take what we can get.”

OK, I can now rest easy with the Sony PS3.  But I just don’t think I’ll be able to give up my Xbox 360 Oblivion.
