Fancy James Perce Conference Table Does Double Duty

June 6, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Furniture at 10:30 pm | Comments off

James Perse is known for making quirky, but beautifully modern furniture. This teak conference table is no exception. It has all the quality that consumers expect from Perse, but with an added bonus; it’s also a ping pong table.

This may seem a little weird, but consider a few things. First, ping pong is one of the most popular sports in the world. Some people may wonder at its inclusion in the “sport” category, but that’s another matter. Second, think of all the office situations in which a little healthy competition (as opposed to the cutthroat kind) could be beneficial. This ping pong table is a stroke of genius as far as I’m concerned.

The beautiful look will make it at home in any high end office, and the gaminess will add a little levity to the world of cubicles and conference calls. Don’t all of us deserve a little extra levity??

Jean-Michel Frank For Hermes

February 21, 2011 | Posted by bLavish as Furniture at 12:36 am | (1) Comment »

Jean-Michel Frank was a somewhat legendary furniture designer at the beginning of the century. Despite living a somewhat tragically romantic life, his daughter was the famous Holocaust diarist Anne Frank, he was an extremely prolific designer with a cutting edge aesthetic that transcends the trends. The Frank family has paired up with luxury retailer Hermes to re-release Frank’s designs this April. It’s a good thing, too, because his gorgeous designs really deserve to be introduced to a new generation.

These meticulous reproductions are lavish, but extremely minimal. Jean-Michel Frank’s cubist roots are easy to spot. The collection features long, low tables, and materials such as solid oak and goatskin. Frank’s style is consistent with other French designs from the 1930′s, but his attention to detail gives his work a unique look all its own. The collection will be featured at the Hermes Madison Avenue store.

The Diamond Bathtub pays strict attention to detail with quality materials and time honored craftsmanship. Put a mirror underneath the tub, and the bather is in for another special surprise. Taking a bath is a luxury nowadays, but The Diamond Bathtub makes it easy to relish the quiet moments we all desperately need, to relax, unwind and bask in the glow of a true indulgence.
