Some of them just want to play donkey polo and have a good time. This was definitely the case for Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami, who wed this summer in the Gascogne region of France.

The guest list was as high society celebrity studded as anyone could dream of. It included Lola Schnabel, Sarah Lerfel of Collette, and artists Philippe Corto, Carsten Holler, and Anri Sala. Some of the festivities took place at the de Taillac’s home, and the dinner the evening before the wedding was at Loubersan, the retreat of fashion designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac.

Touhami and de Taillac have actually been together for 11 years, and have 3 children together. So, why get married, now? Well, it’s as good an excuse as any to have a party, isn’t it? The couple wed at the local mayor’s office, and then hurried off by helicopter to Luxeube to party til the sun came up.

Unfortunately, the donkey polo had to be canceled due to a debilitating hangover on the groom’s part, as did the parachutist-delivered speech Touhami had planned (due to wind, not the interior weather of either member of the wedding). The happy couple was unphased by these minor setbacks, and de Taillac told W magazine, It doesn’t matter if something doesn’t work out, because people don’t know what you had planned. Over the years I’ve realized that the party always goes on.”

Sounds like the right attitude to have at the beginning of a new chapter in your life, no?
