So you’re a pimp, right?  What are you doing with an ordinary SanDisk card then?

You should really be carrying this Solid Gold $5,000 SanDisk Card, if you wanna impress anyone.  What the heck?!  I mean, do we really need gold Scan Disk cards?

Anyhoo, up for $5,000, these gold SanDisk cards are up for grabs in a Hong Kong contest that ends June 22, so had better get started on how you’re going to win that baby….

The world’s oldest camera recently sold at auction last week for an incredible $792,333.  The daguerreotype camera which was built in 1839 was the first to camera to be made commercially available to the public at large.

The sale price of the camera has also earned it the title of world’s most expensive camera.  That’s a lot of titles for one camera, hopefully it won’t all go to its head….

Say hello to the Hello Kitty DC571 Digital Camera.  This baby is one flashy piece of camera, so watch out!  KFE Japan has just unveiled this purrrty baby with the lens cover speckled with Hello Kitty fun.

This new 5 mega-pixel digital camera features a resolution of 640×480, as well as 22fps audio movie recording capabilities.  With the more than pleasant shape & kittyness, I don’t think you can go wrong with this new camera.  Unless you hate Hello Kitty.  And what normal human being would be capable of such a thing?  Cost, $217

QuickPod, the Self-Portrait Camera Pole

December 8, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Cameras at 11:00 am | Comments »

quickpod-camera-12-8-2006.jpgOhhhh, so that’s how you’re suppose to take pictures of you & your honey on holiday.  I see.  Or I guess that’s the best way when you either don’t want to ask a passerby to snap a shot or there’s no one around.

The QuickPod is a fast-acting pole that allows you to take photographs of yourself when there’s no one else around.  All you have to do is attach the QuickPod to your camera & snap away.  Sounds like a great idea, and the pole is positioned so that your arm will not embarrassingly in the vacation pics.  Cost, $25.

Nothing says sexy like the Birdy Web Cam from BirdyGift.com.  This adorable, and yet at the same time a little frightening, PC web cam comes to you in the shape of a perched bird & available in silver, red, blue or gold.

Made lovingly of plastic & ready for whatever you want to dish out, this little birdy is ready to come home.  No word as of yet on pricing, but whatever the cost, I’m sure it’s worth it.

You get to choose from of six possible Elvises to pose with: GI Elvis, Surfer Elvis, Brooding Cowboy Elvis, Smiling Cowboy Elvis, Red Shirt Elvis & Stripped Jacket Elvis.  I’m going with the red shirt, but sadly sore that there’s no naked Elvis.  Cost, $19.

Canon Says Goodbye Forever to Developing New SLR Cameras

May 25, 2006 | Posted by Allison as Cameras, Tid Bits & News at 12:53 pm | (1) Comment »

Canon.jpgJapanese camera maker Canon announced today that they will now stop developing new  single-lens reflex cameras as everyone abandons film for digital.  The Tokyo-based company’s announcement comes recently after Japanese rival Nikon stated they would be concentrating more on digital models.

Canon will continue to make the film cameras currently on the market as lost as demand remains.  Japanese camera makers sold 64.77 million digital cameras last year, compared with only 5.38 million film cameras sold.

Well, I guess it all makes sense to go digital, but I still kinda like the purity of film.
