Spain’s largest airport, in Madrid, was voted Best Airport by Conde Nast Traveler in 2008. It’s largely because of Terminal 4, which was designed by architects Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers (designer of the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Millenium Dome in London).
Terminal 4, although it doesn’t actually look much like the Centre Pompidou, uses many of the same design elements. The interior is designed to allow in as much natural light as possible via curvy, undulating ceiling panels. Instead of walls, areas are divided by glass panels. This combination of details is meant to offer passengers a calm relaxing beginning to their journey. It houses some of the most posh airlines, such as British Airways and Iberia.
Whether you’re departing, arriving, or just passing through, Madrid’s Terminal 4 is a beautiful and artful travel space.

When you are standing in line at an airport after having paid a premium price for a last-minute flight only to arrive at your destination without your luggage, you may want to consider an alternative way to fly — private charter. Cutbacks, security screenings, and added inconvenience have led to increased customer dissatisfaction. As a result, fractional ownership has become a viable alternative in the private aviation industry.
Imagine being able to sit back and relax, have a few drinks, and comfortably stretch out in leather seats while dining on “real” food. Having the opportunity to request a plane when you want and where you want without the hassles of large crowds and long lines has become priceless.
Chartering a private jet provides not only greater efficiency but also enables you to travel to more destinations without the pain of connections or layovers. While most commercial planes can reach only 500 airports worldwide, most private carriers have access to more than 6,000. Members are also able to select the specific size of jet and category of aircraft they need for each flight. More and more people are choosing private charters as they can be booked on short notice and are guaranteed available — weather-permitting – year round.
Sentient Jet, headquartered in Weymouth, Mass., offers a TravelCard Membership account where members can choose from one of two programs (silver requires a $100,000 deposit and gold level requires a $250,000 deposit). All funds are held in an account for future flights, which are debited based on actual flight time and do not expire.
Fractional aircraft ownership has become a growing trend in recent years. More and more members are realizing how easy it has become to travel safely and easily, not to mention on your schedule.

There is no other more luxurious way to travel the world than through private air. Marquis Jet realizes this, which is why Kenny Dichter founded the company in 2001 to provide the highest levels of safety, security, service and flexibility.
Since then, the company has become a leader in private jet cards, forming a unique alliance with NetJets to provide the convenience, quality and safety of the world’s premier fractional aircraft ownership program. The Marquis Jet Card is sold in 25-hour increments of flight time aboard the NetJets fleet, providing guaranteed aircraft availability 365 days each year. Card pricing ranges from $135,900 to $367,900, depending upon the aircraft selected. Card owners request and receive the exact aircraft type they purchased or are given a complimentary upgrade. In addition, the user can exchange their jet, based on availability, for a larger or smaller cabin specially designed for each flight, depending on their requirements.
The average age of the aircraft in the NetJets fleet is five years and the company manages and maintains over 750 aircraft in more than 173 countries worldwide. The time to buy is now, whether it’s Dan Marino’s Weston, Florida estate or now Pfizer’s corporate company jets, it’s a buyer’s market.
The world’s largest pharmaceutical company is trying to sell of two of the company jets, and they’re a bargain. The Gulfstream V is going for a mere $29.25 million while the Gulfstream 550 is priced reasonably at $35.5 million.
Southwest can barely do better than these prices.

You know it’s bad when coffee giant Starbucks is feeling the economic pressure.
After having their corporate plane for only one month, Starbucks is already listing the plane for sale. With only 20 flights on the new Gulfstream G550, the plane should sell well, if there is a buyer that is.
The $45 million Gulfstream G550 was ordered four years ago when Starbucks was enjoying a blissful boom time, unlike the present economy.

The world’s most expensive jet is currently the Bombardier Global Express XRS. At $49.3 million for just the jet itself, no maintenance included, you’ve got to have some very deep pockets or maybe some really good friends.
The Bombardier Global Express XRS Jet can travel up to 6,150 nautical miles at a cruise speed of no less than Mach 0.85. Not too shabby, eh? Well for that kind of cash, I wouldn’t take anything less.
