Diamond Stella Egg II.jpgReady for the Easter bunny to hop down your lane and leave baskets and goodies alike?  well, why not go to the king of Easter bunies & take a look at the most expensive Easter egg ever made.  What is it made of you ask, why nothing but the best things in life- layers of dark chocolate & layers of half carat diamonds.  I guess the bunny wanted a different carrot to share this year.

The “Diamond Stella Egg” took Piccadilly chocolatier shop La Maison Du Chocolat three weeks to make.  It stands 25 inches tall, is stuffed with each & apricot chocolates and pralines in the shape of a fish- A French tradition at Easter time.

The Stella egg costs a whopping $100,000, interested?  According to the chocolatier, “This is the most unique, exciting and individual egg we have ever created. The question we are asking is whether the buyer will want to eat it or preserve it.”

Neil Duttson of Duttson Diamonds, the company who supplied the diamonds for the extravagant egg, has a more skeptical tone, “It’s a gimmick, a PR stunt. And it probably won’t sell unless a rich Russian walks by with his trophy wife and decides he wants it … Chocolate and diamonds – what more could a woman want?”
