Originally bred for fighting & personal protection, the French Mastiff’s ancestry can be traced back to the Middle Ages.  The breed was known in France around the 14th century and was entered in its first show in 1863.

But what can you expect to pay for the most expensive dog breed around?  Try around $2300 for a puppy from a reputable breeder.  Ouch, how much are they at the pound?
