Estate of the Day: Wyclef Jean’s Miami Beach Foreclosure

There have been several celebrity foreclosures as of late but today’s foreclosure news strikes a more sad note for me.
Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean is facing a foreclosure of his Miami Beach property. Jean apparently borrowed $2 million from a mortgage company to rebuild the canal-front estate, but when his partner’s pocketbook went dry the property has been sitting unfinished for quite a while now.
Appraised at $1.4 million, it is doubtful if Wyclef will be able to come up with enough cash from the sale to repay his debts. Poor Wyclef, he flew too close to the sun…
