TheCoolHunter had a cool post up this week for a light carpet, perfect for the dorm room or the bachelor pad.
“A few months ago we featured the “light up your life” trend… that was only the beginning… Light keeps on illuminating our life in surprising ways. A new example comes from Johanna Hyrkas, a Finnish designer/architect/artist who puts poetry on the floor with her light carpet. It isn’t a disco dance-floor but it will enhance the complexion of your pedicured feet, your Chihuahua or your children. What more could you want than to be able to walk in the light….”
Just one question, does it come in pink?

Now is your chance to own a guitar signed by all the Beatles. A private collector from the Rock Star gallery will be putting up a guitar, signed by the fab-four, for auction the beggining of April.
“Here is the story on how the autographs were obtained on the guitar: the collector, an avid Beatles fan from Virginia, worked for Baltimore City in the 70s and 80s. During that time period, a close friend of his, a police officer who moonlighted event security at the Civic Center got Dave signed on one of the extra event security workers. This provided him with the opportunity to be backstage for various events.
“Three out of the four signatures on the Beatles guitar were acquired at various venues (Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison). He was unable to acquire John Lennon’s signature at any of these locations. In early 1980, after several failed attempts to get the remaining signature to obtain the final autograph, he traveled to New York to attempt to get John Lennon’s signature. He went to the Dakota, the building Lennon lived in, and waited patiently outside. On the second day, John Lennon came out on foot and Dave approached him. He explained that he had the other three Beatles signatures but was missing his. Lennon commented…of course, he needed the most important signature…and signed his guitar. The collector kept the guitar in his home in a case. A few years ago, he passed it on to his son who is now putting it up for auction.”
The guitar is said to catch anywhere from $110,000 to $340,000.

Luxist enchanted me today with their post on the James Bond Omega watches. I, myself, love to pretend I am a spy sometimes and this would be a great addition to my collection, I could put it right next to my chest of camouflage moustaches & spy PC. Here is Luxist now….
“In the James Bond books by Ian Fleming, Bond wore a Rolex but for the past few movies, Bond’s been an Omega man. Pierce Brosnan wore an Omega Seamaster Professional Diver in his James Bond movies (Brosnan was also an Omega spokesperson). Omega has released two James Bond watches before and the one shown above, the new Omega Seamaster James Bond Limited Edition is one of the first James Bond watches to be equipped with the co-axial escapement. The 41mm stainless steel watch uses the automatic Omega caliber 2500. The dial features the James Bond logo and the second hand has the 007 gun logo on one side. The watch is a “limited edition” of 10,007 pieces. I wonder if this means that Daniel Craig will be sporting an Omega in the new James Bond movie.”
A 007 gun logo for the second hand, get out of here! I won’t let you say that isn’t cool. If only there was a bond girl watch….

Ian Treibick was one of us, he wanted to live big and experience all the luxury he could find, or afford. The 29-year-old dreamt of sailing the open seas in a yacht of his own, a dream that appeared unattainable, until he had a talk with his father.
Treibick and his father had a conversation two years ago that has changed the face of personal yachting adventures worldwide. They discussed the company NetJets which appeals to business executives who would rather buy a share in a private jet, rather than purchase their own. They wondered why they couldn’t do that with yachts. A wonder that has turned into a dream realized.
Treibick founded the company WindPath which, for only $500 a month, allows eight people to share yachts that would normally cost $200,000+. The “boats” range from a 35-foot Catalina to a more luxury 41-foot Catalina 400 edition. The interiors are all stunning with teak finishing, surround sound, flat-screen televisions and DVD players. With sleeping accommodations for seven onboard, take the family into the lap of luxury.
You now have no excuse not to treat yourself to luxury, the time-share way.

Are you getting a bit anxious about your spring wardrobe? Ready for a few new pieces to liven it up but can’t take the pressure of the multitude of choices available at your favorite department store? Or do you need some advise as to what looks best with your figure? Release that stress and anxiety and come to where relaxation and confirmation begin. From bikinis to trousers, personal shoppers are the life coach of shopping.
Personal shoppers are available in many department stores. Just call ahead and make an appointment- tell them what you’re looking for, your style & size, and when you arrive the clothes are waiting for you in the dressing room. No scrambling about trying to find your size, no painful elbowing to grab the last French Connection shirt on the rack. Nope, all you have to do is show up & try on.
You are not obliged to purchase anything, many personal shoppers do not work on commission. You can even hire an outside personal shopper not affiliated with a store, an average rate is about $100 per hour. It sounds like the perfect thing to me. Does TJ Maxx have a personal shopper?
